DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland XTD Carbon 120 is a high-performance ski touring boot designed for those who don't want to compromise between ascents and descents. Featuring a carbon fiber liner, it ensures exceptional power transmission without sacrificing comfort during long climbs.
Construction and Technical Performance
With a last width of 100 mm, it falls into an intermediate category between freeride and pure touring boots, offering a precise fit and excellent ski control on challenging descents. The carbon tongue reduces overall weight while maintaining high longitudinal rigidity, consistent with the flex index of 120, suitable for technical and aggressive skiers. The closure system integrates two aluminum buckles and a shin buckle for secure and adjustable locking.
Uphill Efficiency
In walk mode, the boot provides extended ankle mobility, allowing for natural strides even on steep slopes. The Grip Walk sole ensures grip on both compacted snow and rock, making foot approaches safe and stable. The low weight, achieved through extensive use of carbon, reduces fatigue on long outings and significant elevation changes.
