How to choose snowshoes

The surface area of the snowshoe should match your weight with your pack: the larger it is, the better it floats in fresh snow. Heel lifts reduce fatigue on climbs and the crampons under the plate give you confidence on hard snow and traverses. Always pair them with poles with snow baskets.
