DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland XTD Carbon 120 is a high-performance ski touring boot designed for those who refuse to compromise between climbing and descending. With a carbon fiber bootie, it guarantees exceptional power transfer without sacrificing comfort during long ascents.
Construction and technical performance
The 100 mm last width positions it in the mid-range between freeride boots and pure touring boots, offering a precise fit and excellent ski control on descents over challenging terrain. The carbon tongue reduces the overall weight while maintaining high longitudinal stiffness, consistent with the 120 flex rating, suitable for technical and aggressive skiers. The closure system integrates two aluminum hooks and a shin buckle for secure and adjustable locking.
Climbing efficiency
In walk mode, the boot guarantees increased ankle mobility, allowing for natural strides even on steep slopes. The Grip Walk sole ensures traction on the ground on both packed snow and rock, making the approach on foot safe and stable. The low weight, achieved thanks to the extensive use of carbon, reduces fatigue on long outings and significant elevation changes.
