DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Wildwire Quickdraw 15 cm is an evolution of the Wildwire carabiner, one of the Scottish brand's bestsellers in the sport climbing segment. The double I-Beam construction is at the heart of the design: the optimized cross-section distributes material exactly where it's needed, reducing weight without compromising structural strength.
Construction and Geometry
Both carabiners are hot forged, a technique that aligns the aluminum fibers during processing and ensures greater uniformity of mechanical properties compared to milling. The nose profile has been redesigned in the new version: the entry zone has been thinned to facilitate clipping even under strain or with one hand, a feature that makes a difference on hard sections. The gate of the top carabiner is straight, while the rope-end carabiner is a wiregate, which eliminates the risk of flutter and reduces the overall weight of the quickdraw.
