DESCRIPTION
The Wildwire Alpine is an alpine quickdraw designed for those seeking the right balance between extreme lightness and structural strength. The Wildwire carabiners mounted on this quickdraw have been redesigned compared to the previous version: the hot-forged "I Beam" construction distributes the material's weight only where needed, reducing mass without compromising certified strength.
Construction and Materials
The carabiner profile is thinner than the previous generation, with a refined nose that makes clipping faster and more intuitive, even with gloves or in cold conditions. The 60 cm Dyneema sling is extendable, a feature that reduces fall distance and the lever effect on cams or pitons, improving anchor stability during ascent.
Use and Performance
- Sling length: 60 cm, ideal for routes with spaced protection or overhanging sections
- Extendable Dyneema sling to reduce fall distance
- Carabiners with hot-forged "I Beam" construction for optimized weight/strength
- Redesigned nose for smooth and secure clipping
The 60 cm version is the most suitable choice for rock climbing and alpine routes where protection can be placed in hard-to-reach spots. The combination of a long sling and lightweight carabiners keeps the overall system weight to a minimum, without sacrificing the reliability required at altitude.
