The North Face Summit Breithorn is a technical mountaineering down jacket designed for those tackling challenging climbs in intensely cold conditions. Its thermal core is 800 fill power ProDown™ insulation, a water-repellent treated down that maintains its insulating properties even in the presence of moisture, ensuring an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio.
Technical Construction for Mountaineering
The fit is designed for vertical movement: raglan sleeves eliminate shoulder seams, reducing friction and pressure from a harness, while elasticated underarm gussets further enhance freedom of movement during climbing maneuvers. The fixed hood is helmet-compatible, a crucial feature for rope work, and adjusts to fit various helmet models.
