DESCRIPTION
The Salomon Speedcross 6 is a trail running shoe designed for those tackling soft, muddy, and technical terrain at high speed. Compared to the previous generation, this version features a significant reduction in overall weight, while maintaining the protection and stability that have made the Speedcross family legendary.
Construction and technologies
The outsole features the classic Speedcross pattern with deeply lugged chevron-shaped studs, designed to grip soft ground and quickly shed mud without accumulation. The Quicklace closure system allows for quick and precise adjustment with one hand, eliminating the risk of loosening during runs on single tracks. The midsole, made of an optimized EVA compound (EnergyCell+), provides responsive cushioning without compromising ground feel.
Upper and fit
- Revised structured mesh upper, airier than the previous version but with unchanged lateral support
- Reinforced heel protection for technical descents and steep slopes
- Padded collar that wraps around the ankle, reducing friction points
- Typical Salomon snug fit that locks the foot without excessive tightness
The Speedcross 6 performs best on mountain trails with yielding surfaces, post-rain trails, and sky running races where immediate traction makes a difference. It is not the ideal choice for asphalt or hard terrains, but on mud and roots, it expresses its full technical potential.
