DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Ascension SX is a rope clamp designed for technical vertical ascents, from mountaineering and caving to rope access work. The SX (right-hand) version stands out for its advanced ergonomic grip, featuring a soft overmolding that improves grip in wet conditions and with gloves, reducing fatigue during prolonged pulls.
Construction and Technical Features
The body is made of high-strength forged aluminum, with a stainless steel toothed cam that ensures reliable locking on ropes from 8 to 13 mm. The upper part is shaped to allow for effective pulling with both one and two hands, distributing the load across the entire palm. The large lower hole allows for the simultaneous connection of two carabiners, facilitating quick attachment of ascent system lanyards without having to open and close the gate. The breaking strength is 4 kN, with CE EN 567 certification and UIAA marking.
