DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Pur'Anneau is a sewn sling made of HDPE (high-density polyethylene), a material that offers an almost unmatched strength-to-weight ratio among products in its category. Despite its ultra-light structure, it maintains high mechanical performance, making it suitable for use on sport climbing routes, multi-pitch climbs, and in mountain rescue contexts where reducing system weight is a real priority.
Construction and Materials
Unlike traditional nylon or standard Dyneema slings, HDPE offers superior flexibility that facilitates handling even with gloves or in cold conditions. The sling opens and positions easily around bolts, cords, and spikes without resistance, speeding up protection and belay operations. The closing seam is visible and allows for a quick inspection of the sling's integrity before use.
Sizes and Quick Identification
- Available in three sizes, each distinguished by a different seam color for immediate recognition, even within a crowded quickdraw or anchor system
- The color-coding system reduces the margin of error when preparing equipment on the wall
- The lightness of HDPE allows for carrying more slings than equivalent nylon ones, for the same total weight in the backpack
The Pur'Anneau is CE EN 566 certified for mountaineering slings and meets UIAA standards, essential requirements for any component of a personal protective system at height.
