DESCRIPTION
The ORTOVOX 120 Comp Light Short Sleeve is a technical short-sleeved Merino wool shirt designed for high-intensity activities in the mountains, both in summer and winter. The number 120 indicates the fabric weight in grams per square meter, placing this garment in the ultralight range of Ortovox's Competition line — the same construction philosophy as the 230 Merino Competition collection, adapted here for high exertion and milder temperatures.
Material and construction
The fabric is made from Naked Sheep certified Merino wool, Ortovox's responsible sourcing program that guarantees fiber traceability and animal welfare. The 120 g/m² Merino wool offers effective natural thermoregulation, wicking moisture away from the skin and maintaining a cool feeling during intense efforts. The fiber is naturally antibacterial, which limits odor formation even after hours of activity.
Fit and use
- Comp (Competition) fit, close to the body, optimal as a base layer under a hardshell or softshell
- Ideal for ski touring, trail running, technical hiking, and climbing in warm conditions or during prolonged exertion
- Seams are positioned to reduce pressure points with a harness or backpack
- Soft direct contact with the skin, without the typical itch of traditional wools
Thanks to its light weight and high compressibility, it can be carried in a backpack as a spare layer without taking up significant space.
