DESCRIPTION
The Millet Rutor Alpha is a hybrid mid-layer designed for fast-paced ski mountaineering and ski touring, where thermal management during ascents is as important as protection during stops. Weighing just 286 grams, it can be carried on your back almost unnoticed and quickly put on when the temperature drops or the wind picks up.
Hybrid construction and technical materials
The chest area is lined with 80 g of Polartec® Alpha® insulation, a material certified for its ability to retain heat even in high humidity conditions, while actively breathing during exertion. The front panel and hood incorporate a windproof insert that blocks gusts without penalizing the garment's overall breathability. The technical fleece body and sleeves, however, allow for the dissipation of heat generated during ascents, reducing sweat buildup.
Fit and functional details
- Helmet-compatible hood, shaped to be worn directly without redesigning the layering during transitions
- Front pockets in an ergonomic position, accessible even with a backpack or harness
- Slim fit that minimizes bulk under the outer jacket
- Elasticated cuffs that seal in warmth without restricting wrist movement when planting poles
