The Mammut Barryvox S2 is a digital three-antenna avalanche transceiver (ARTVA) designed for avalanche search and rescue, intended for those who frequent high-risk snowy environments such as ski mountaineers, freeriders, and mountain guides. Compact and reliable, it combines operational simplicity and advanced performance in a single device.
Search performance and technology
The receiving range reaches 70 meters, allowing for quicker localization of buried victims. The three-antenna system ensures precise signal orientation in all conditions, while the search algorithm guides users step-by-step even in the most complex situations, such as multiple burials with several individuals buried simultaneously. The interface is designed for intuitive operation under stress, with clear visual and acoustic indications even when wearing gloves.
Reliability and self-diagnosis
One of the distinctive features of the Barryvox S2 is its continuous self-diagnosis system: the device constantly monitors its own operation and promptly reports any anomalies, ensuring that the ARTVA is always operational when truly needed. The battery lasts up to 200 hours in transmit mode, minimizing the risk of running out of power during an extended outing. Its compact size makes it easy to carry in its dedicated belt or in the backpack's ARTVA holder, without obstructing movement.
