DESCRIPTION
The Karpos Highest Goretex Shell Pants are full-featured technical hardshell pants, designed for mountaineering on challenging terrain, where exposure to the elements is prolonged and resistance to abrasion on rock and ice is crucial. These are not a lightweight hiking compromise: these pants meet the needs of those tackling serious alpine routes, steep ski touring, and glacier expeditions.
Construction and Materials
The shell is made of 3-layer Gore-Tex® Pro, the highest-performing variant in the Gore-Tex range, which guarantees total waterproofing, wind resistance, and high breathability even under intense exertion. The 3-layer construction — where the laminate is bonded directly to the outer fabric and inner lining — eliminates bulky liners and keeps the pants lightweight, compact, and highly abrasion-resistant, a fundamental quality on mixed terrain with sections of rock or ice.
Functional Features
- Side zip openings for an adjustable fit and quick ventilation during breaks or strenuous ascents
- Integrated internal gaiters to seal the pants over boots and prevent snow entry
- Anatomical cut designed to ensure ample freedom of movement in technical sections, on rock or skis
- Compatibility with mountaineering harnesses thanks to a structured waist that does not interfere with equipment
- Fully taped seams for a waterproof seal over the entire surface
For those moving through steep couloirs, exposed ridges, and high-altitude walls, the Karpos Highest Goretex Shell Pants offer concrete protection without compromising on movement — an essential requirement when conditions leave no room for error.
