DESCRIPTION
The Fixe Sling Fosca is a sewn sling measuring 10 mm in width and 65 cm in length, made from a combination of technical materials that optimizes both its mechanical strength and long-term durability. Its chosen length—the average between the shorter versions and via ferrata slings—makes it particularly versatile for crag and multi-pitch use, where a ready-to-use sling is needed to extend protection, build intermediate anchors, or reduce leverage on quickdraws.
Construction and technical details
Every aspect of the sling is designed to reduce operational risks: the stitching is finished on both the edges and the sides to eliminate protrusions that could snag during maneuvers with carabiners and locking slings. The Fixe logo is applied to the side using flat stitching, so as not to create friction points with quickdraws or the metal components of the system. The edges of the information label are also rounded, a detail that contributes to smooth maneuvers on the wall.
Materials and strength
The Fosca uses a combination of high-tenacity fibers—a feature that distinguishes this line from standard nylon slings—significantly increasing tensile strength and long-term stability even with continuous use. The result is a sling that maintains its stated mechanical properties for longer, reducing the need for premature replacement compared to equivalent single-component products.
