DESCRIPTION
The Fixe Siurana 9.6 mm is a single dynamic rope designed for sport climbing on crags, available in an 80-metre version in red. Its 9.6 mm diameter places it in the range preferred by those who frequent equipped single-pitch routes: robust enough to ensure long-lasting durability, yet thin enough to run smoothly through quickdraws during intensive sessions.
Technical specifications
Its construction follows the EN 892 / UIAA standards for single dynamic ropes, with a high-tenacity braided nylon core and a sheath that balances abrasion resistance with handling. Its length of 80 metres makes it particularly versatile on crags with longer routes or when you prefer to minimise intermediate cuts, preserving more usable rope over time.
Performance and use
- Diameter: 9.6 mm — optimal balance between weight and strength for single-rope use
- Length: 80 metres
- Use: sport climbing on crags, equipped single-pitch routes
- Certification: single (EN 892)
In action, the Siurana performs well both during lead attempts — where the sheath's smooth running reduces friction in carabiners — and during repetitions on well-used routes, where the long-term durability of the braided construction is important. It is a practical choice for those seeking everyday reliability without compromising on easy rope handling.
