DESCRIPTION
The DMM Pivot is a belay device designed for climbers seeking greater control during belaying, lowering a partner, and rappelling. It solves one of the most well-known problems with traditional guide plates: the difficulty of lowering seconds.
Its distinguishing feature is the pivoting shackle, which changes the leverage point when lowering a second begins. This significantly reduces the force required to start and control the descent of one or two seconds, making guide mode simpler and more intuitive compared to conventional solutions.
The internal structure is created through hot forging and CNC machining, which ensures superior control with a wide range of ropes. The benefit is particularly evident with modern small-diameter ropes.
The Pivot offers two friction modes to adapt to different contexts:
- Standard orientation: secure control with ropes of various diameters.
- Rotated 180°: smoother rappelling with thick or low-friction ropes.
