DESCRIPTION
The CAMP XLC Nanotech Automatic was born from the need to combine the light weight of technical crampons with superior performance on hard ice. The main structure is made of high-strength aluminum alloy, the same as used across the entire XLC range, which allows for extremely reduced weight without sacrificing the overall rigidity of the crampon.
Nanoflex® Technology and Ice Performance
The distinctive feature of this model is the integration of Sandvik Nanoflex® steel inserts on the front points. This is a high-nitrogen stainless steel developed by Sandvik, which offers significantly superior hardness and toughness compared to conventional steel, ensuring a sharper and more precise penetration into compact ice and in extreme cold conditions. The front points retain their edge longer than full-aluminum solutions, reducing the need for frequent sharpening even after intense high-altitude sessions.
Binding System and Compatibility
The binding system is automatic, compatible with technical mountaineering boots equipped with front and rear welts certified for use with rigid bindings. This configuration ensures direct power transmission from the foot to the tip, which is essential for vertical progression on mixed terrain and steep ice.
