DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Nano 22 represents the latest evolution of the Nano family, one of the most popular wiregate carabiner lines in light mountaineering and sport climbing. Compared to its predecessors, the Nano Wire and Nano 23, this connector advances the concept of weight reduction without compromising structural performance.
Technical Features
The body is made of high-strength aluminum with a completely redesigned structure that has allowed for a weight reduction to 22 grams, while maintaining major axis strength suitable for mountaineering use. The most significant data point is the 9 kN open gate strength, an exceptional value for a carabiner in this weight category, which reduces risk in case of accidental loading with the gate open. The redesigned nose provides active protection for the wiregate, preventing unintentional opening caused by friction on rock or rope.
Field Use and Performance
The particular curvature of the body facilitates clipping even with cold fingers or thin gloves, making it ideal for use on alpine routes, light dry tooling, or as a quickdraw in ice protection. Thanks to its low weight, it is perfectly suited for use in large numbers – for example, on ice screw tethers – where every gram saved translates into autonomy and speed on the wall. The yellow color facilitates quick identification on the rack.
