DESCRIPTION
The Aurora by CAMP is a climbing and mountaineering harness designed for those seeking extreme lightness without sacrificing comfort during extended use. Its construction utilizes breathable webbing and padding materials that limit stifling of the waist and thighs even during longer belays, while the structure remains compact enough to be easily stowed in a backpack.
Construction and Technical Features
The design features pre-shaped leg loops with perforated padding that distribute the load evenly, reducing pressure points in suspended positions. The front tie-in point is reinforced to withstand repeated stress from belaying and rappelling with common braking devices. The elasticated gear loops, four in total, keep quickdraws stable even when moving on challenging terrain.
Equipment Integration
CAMP developed the Aurora as part of a coordinated equipment system that includes the Acqualong chalk bag, the Nimbus Lock carabiner, the Orbit Express KS quickdraw, and the Shockwave helmet. The coherence between these components is not just aesthetic: weights and geometries are balanced to form a compact and functional sport climbing or cragging kit. Thanks to its versatility, the Aurora is suitable for both rock climbing and high-altitude excursions where reducing overall weight makes a difference.
