DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Atom Lock is a screw-lock HMS (Halbmastwurfsicherung) carabiner, specifically designed for climbing safety: rope management with a Munter hitch, belaying a climbing partner, and rappelling. Its wide, pear shape allows the rope to run smoothly and predictably under all load conditions.
Construction and Geometry
The high-strength aluminum body offers an excellent balance of lightness and robustness. The nose features proprietary SphereLock technology, a spherical geometry that reduces the risk of accidental levering on the carabiner—one of the main failure mechanisms in climbing connectors. The gate opening is wide, designed for quick clipping even with one hand, with gloves, or in stressful situations.
