DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Vapor Helmet is one of the lightest helmets available for rock climbing and mountaineering activities, now redesigned with a two-layer construction that improves both protection and comfort compared to the previous version.
Construction and materials
The upper shell combines a polycarbonate outer shell with an inner layer of ALUULA composite, an ultralight aerospace-derived material that increases structural rigidity without adding weight. The side zones, on the other hand, are made of molded EPP foam (expanded polypropylene), which ensures high repeated impact absorption capacity and good long-term resilience. This hybrid construction allows for extreme weight reduction while maintaining compliance with certification standards for vertical use.
Fit and use
