DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Camalot Z4 redefines single-stem cam performance thanks to its proprietary RigidFlex technology, developed to solve one of the classic problems of trad climbing: cam walk. The stem remains rigid during placement, ensuring precise insertion even in awkward cracks, and flexes elastically once you climb past the protection point – drastically reducing unwanted movement and keeping the anchor exactly where it was placed.
Technology and Construction
The 0.2 size covers an expansion range between 7.8 and 13.8 mm, making it ideal for thin cracks and protection in compact granite or fine sandstone. The four-lobe design with a dual-axis profile ensures uniform contact with the rock on parallel and slightly flared surfaces. The trigger is ergonomic and can be operated with one hand, even with thin gloves or under stress.
