DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Camalot C4 in size 1 is one of the most popular double-axle cams in traditional climbing worldwide, now completely redesigned to offer superior performance compared to the previous generation. The updated version is 10% lighter than the previous model, without any compromise on structural strength.
Cam Construction and Technology
The cams have been sculpted and lightened through optimized machining that reduces material in non-critical areas, while maintaining the contact surface with the rock. The independent dual axle allows the two pairs of cams to rotate separately, expanding the useful expansion range and ensuring stable placement even in irregular or slightly flared cracks. The rigid stem design — a distinctive feature of the C4 compared to models with a flexible cable — ensures direct force transmission and more precise handling during one-handed insertion.
