The BEAL Joker 9.1mm Unicore Golden DRY is a triple-certified rope — single (1), half (½), and twin (∞) — designed for those who tackle varied climbing environments and don't want to carry different ropes depending on the route. With a diameter of 9.1 mm, it falls into the high-performance thin rope segment, where every gram and every millimeter of diameter concretely impact progression.
Construction and treatment
BEAL's Unicore technology fuses the outer sheath with the inner core into a single, cohesive element: this eliminates sheath slippage, keeps the rope compact even after intensive use, and ensures greater uniformity in force distribution during a fall. The Golden DRY treatment waterproofs both the core and the sheath fiber by fiber, making the rope resistant to water absorption in humid conditions, on snow, or in wet cracks — situations where an untreated rope can significantly increase in weight and lose dynamic efficiency.
