DESCRIPTION
The BEAL BE Safe is an HMS screw-lock carabiner designed specifically for belaying, both with a Munter hitch and tubular belay devices. Its wide and asymmetric geometry allows for the simultaneous passage of two ropes — a fundamental feature in double rope or rescue situations — without the risk of overlapping that could compromise braking in the event of a fall.
Geometry and rope glide
The rope contact area has been optimized to reduce lateral friction, ensuring a smooth rappel and precise control during belaying. The profile of the main bar follows a progressive curve that prevents accidental rope crossing, improving system responsiveness even with gloves or in wet conditions. The screw gate offers reliable manual closure, suitable for systematic use on equipped anchors or rappel rings.
