DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130 BOA is a freeride touring boot designed for those who don't want to compromise on either ascents or descents. With a low-volume 98mm last, it falls into the category of technical performance-oriented touring boots, where precision in power transmission is critical on steep slopes as well as flat sections.
Construction and Technologies
The shell is made with Prolite technology, which starts with an essential structural profile and then adds targeted reinforcements in areas subject to the highest loads — sides, heel, and shin area. The result is a boot with a 130 flex rating, suitable for hard snow, steep terrain, and challenging off-piste conditions, without the excessive weight of a pure resort boot. The BOA® Fit System closure integrates a micrometric dial that allows for precise, millimeter-perfect tension adjustment of the strap over the top of the foot, even with gloves on, eliminating one of the weak points of traditional buckle systems.
Walk Mode and Alpine Use
The boot is equipped with a walk-mode mechanism that unlocks ankle mobility for efficient walking during skinning ascents or transitions on mixed terrain. The sole is compatible with WTR (Walk To Ride) bindings and tech/pin systems, making it versatile across multiple types of ski touring bindings. It is the correct choice for those who tackle challenging tours and demand pure freeride performance from their boot on the descent.
