DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland Carbon Tongue Shield is a handcrafted carbon fiber boot tongue reinforcement designed to increase the boot's responsiveness during skiing. It is an aftermarket component compatible with the inner liner tongue of Atomic Backland boots from the 2022/23 season onwards.
How it works and what it's for
The Tongue Shield attaches directly to the liner tongue and acts as a localized stiffener on the front of the leg. This means that the pressure exerted on the forefoot is transmitted to the shell more directly and efficiently, reducing play and improving steering precision on the slopes or on more challenging descents. It is particularly useful for those who want to transform their Backland boot from a climbing-oriented tool into a more reactive tool for downhill as well, without having to purchase a different model.
