DESCRIPTION
The ATK Toe Shim AL14 is a 4 mm precision aluminum shim, sold in pairs, designed for fine-tuning ATK ski touring bindings. Its purpose is to compensate for the height difference between the heel piece and the toe piece, a critical parameter for ensuring proper release system function and optimal power transmission while skiing.
When and why to use it
In setups with binding plates, boot soles with specific thicknesses, or mounting on skis with raised tails, the height difference between the toe and heel can fall outside the manufacturer's recommended tolerance. Inserting the Toe Shim AL14 under the toe piece restores correct alignment, preventing unwanted pre-release or, conversely, excessive retention that compromises safety.
