DESCRIPTION
The ATK ski-saving backplate is a specific replacement component for ATK bindings, designed to protect the ski surface in the heel drilling area. When mounting ski touring bindings that require through-screws, this plate fits between the binding and the ski deck, distributing the load and reducing the risk of structural damage to the carbon or glass laminate in the most stressed areas.
Technical Function and Compatibility
The set includes two plates — one for each ski — made to precisely match the geometry of ATK binding models. The main function is to protect the drilled hole from the risk of delamination or micro-fractures of the core, a recurring problem on skis with complex geometries or particularly lightweight constructions. The plate also acts as a localized reinforcement, increasing the screw's bearing surface and ensuring a more uniform hold over time.
