DESCRIPTION
The ATK Carbon Kevlar® Pole Baskets are tip baskets designed specifically for ATK Bindings' carbon fiber and Kevlar® poles, intended for technical ski mountaineering and deep powder freeride. Their purpose is to prevent the pole shaft from sinking too deeply into fresh snow, ensuring effective support during ascents on foot.
Materials and construction
The name Carbon Kevlar® is not accidental: these baskets integrate the same aramid and carbon fibers used in ATK pole shafts into their composite, offering superior impact resistance compared to standard plastic versions, with minimal weight. The structure is rigid under load but not brittle, a fundamental characteristic when working in alpine environments with harsh temperatures that make common polymeric materials more vulnerable to impacts.
