DESCRIPTION
The Ortovox Free Rider 22 is a 22-litre freeride backpack designed for those seeking maximum mobility off-piste without compromising on essential carrying capacity. Its compact geometry and back architecture make it particularly suitable for outings in fresh snow, where freedom of movement is crucial.
Carrying system and fit
The Free Rider 22's strong point is its back system, which hugs the back and minimises load sway during descents. The CLASP FLEX BELT hip belt is flat and flexible: it does not restrict torso rotation and keeps the backpack close to the body even during the most dynamic manoeuvres on steep slopes. The soft back pads distribute the weight evenly and wrap around the back without interfering with shoulder mobility, a result that is difficult to achieve with traditional rigid systems.
Organisation and safety in the mountains
- 22-litre main compartment with quick access to safety equipment
- Front ski carrier for uphill or mixed-terrain travel
- Integrated ice axe attachment
- Dedicated external pocket for the shovel and probe for immediate access in case of emergency
- Compatible with a hydration bladder
The Free Rider 22 is the ideal companion for freeride days off-piste starting from lifts or for light ski touring, when the load needs to remain manageable but the organisation of safety equipment cannot be compromised.
