DESCRIPTION
The La Sportiva Vanguard was created to meet the needs of advanced ski tourers seeking a boot that delivers uncompromising performance on both the ascent and the descent. It is not an extreme tool specialized in just one direction: it is the result of a genuine technical balance between touring mobility and freeride control.
Construction and materials
The Vanguard’s structure features a two-component polyurethane shell with varying zonal hardness, ensuring torsional rigidity in the foot area and greater flexibility in the upper cuff. The closure system incorporates aluminum buckles with micro-adjustment and a cuff locking system optimized for ascent mode. The inner boot is anatomically shaped and designed to reduce pressure points on long outings.
Ascent and descent performance
- Wide range of motion in walk mode, with a range of movement designed to tackle steep slopes without fatiguing the calf
- Vibram sole with a profile compatible with standard and tech ski touring bindings
- Lightweight within the free-touring category, easing the pace on multi-hour outings
- Boot flex calibrated to ensure responsiveness and power transfer to the skis, even on hard snow and off-piste
The Vanguard is the right boot for those tackling challenging mountain itineraries with significant elevation gain, who still want to maintain the ability to ski safely and confidently on the descent. A complete technical profile, without having to choose between efficiency on the ascent and enjoyment on the descent.
