DESCRIPTION
The Backland Carbon Tongue Shield by Atomic is a boot tongue reinforcement handcrafted from carbon fiber, designed to increase boot response during the skiing phase. It is an aftermarket component compatible with the inner boot liner of Atomic Backland boots from the 2022/23 season onwards.
How it works and what it is for
The Tongue Shield attaches directly to the liner tongue and acts as localized stiffening on the front of the leg. This means that the pressure exerted on the forefoot is transmitted to the shell in a more direct and efficient way, reducing play and improving steering precision on the slopes or more challenging terrain. It is particularly useful for those who want to transform the Backland boot from an uphill-oriented tool into a more responsive piece of equipment even on the descent, without having to purchase a different model.
