DESCRIPTION
The Salewa Ortles Gore-Tex® 3L EPE is a mountaineering jacket built to withstand the harshest weather conditions at altitude. At the heart of the design is the GORE-TEX ePE (expanded Polyethylene) membrane, a next-generation technology that delivers complete waterproofing, wind resistance, and high breathability in a single layer, without compromising the system's lightweight design.
Materials and sustainability
The fabric is made from 100% recycled, PFAS-free material, eliminating the perfluorinated DWR treatments traditionally used in the industry. This approach reduces the environmental impact of production while maintaining the technical performance expected from a three-layer shell for high-altitude use. The three-layer (3L) construction combines the outer fabric, membrane, and inner lining into a single rigid, abrasion-resistant composite, ideal for moving over rock, mixed terrain, and ice.

- Helmet-compatible hood, adjustable and structured to maintain a clear field of vision even when wearing a helmet
