DESCRIPTION
The SALEWA Ortles Gore-Tex® 3L EPE is a mountaineering jacket designed to withstand the most severe weather conditions at high altitudes. The core of the design is the GORE-TEX ePE (expanded Polyethylene) membrane, a new-generation technology that ensures total waterproofing, wind resistance, and high breathability in a single layer, without compromising the system's lightness.
Materials and sustainability
The fabric is made from 100% recycled material and is PFAS-free, eliminating the perfluorinated DWR treatments traditionally used in the industry. This approach reduces the environmental impact of production while maintaining the technical performance expected from a three-layer shell for high altitudes. The 3-layer (3L) construction combines the outer fabric, membrane, and inner lining into a single rigid and abrasion-resistant composite, suitable for movement on rock, mixed terrain, and ice.
