DESCRIPTION
The Fanes Sarner hybrid jacket by Salewa is born from the combination of two materials with very different characteristics, combined according to the logic of body mapping: the central body (chest and back) is insulated with 750 fill power duck down padding, 90% down / 10% feathers, while the sleeves feature the Sarner construction in 100% recycled wool, a material that manages moisture better and retains its thermal properties even when wet.
A construction logic focused on performance
The choice to concentrate the down on the areas with the greatest heat loss and to use wool on the sleeves — more exposed to friction and perspiration during movement — is not aesthetic but functional. The result is a garment that remains lightweight and compressible like a classic down jacket, without sacrificing resistance and breathability in the most stressed areas. The hybrid construction also translates into greater abrasion resistance compared to traditional down jackets, making it suitable for use with a backpack and harness.
Versatility between approach and refuge
This jacket performs well as a mid-layer at altitude during stops or as an outer layer on low-intensity autumn outings.
