DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Peak 12 STL is a 12-point crampon designed for those tackling mixed alpine terrain, capable of adapting to both mountaineering boots with rigid soles and ski touring boots, thanks to a versatile binding system that combines automatic and semi-automatic modes.
Binding System and Adaptability
The technical strong point of the Peak 12 STL is the BootFit system, an innovative construction that allows for precise fit adjustment across a very wide range of soles, eliminating play between boot and crampon even under dynamic stress. The automatic front binding quickly converts to semi-automatic with a strap, making it compatible with boots that do not have a rigid front welt.
Technical Construction
- High-strength stainless steel structure for durability and grip on ice and mixed terrain
- 12 points with optimized geometry for progression on compacted snow, ice, and mixed terrain
- Horizontal front points suitable for classic mountaineering and steep snow ascents
- Tool-free length adjustment system, adaptable to different shoe sizes
- Compatible with ski touring and mountaineering soles thanks to the dual binding mode
In the field, the Peak 12 STL proves particularly effective on excursions where the altitude gain with skis alternates with long stretches on foot on glaciers or ridges, where changing crampons would mean losing precious time. Its adaptability makes it a solid choice for those who want a single technical crampon to use with multiple types of footwear.
