DESCRIPTION
The 60 cm Petzl Jane I is a fixed dynamic rope lanyard designed to be paired with the ABSORBICA energy absorber, forming a single-rope fall protection system. Its fixed length of 60 cm makes it ideal for use on via ferratas and in mountaineering, where managing the lanyard does not require adjustment in the field.
Construction and materials
The dynamic rope construction ensures progressive energy absorption during a fall, reducing the load transmitted to the body. The ends are protected by a rigid plastic sheath that serves a dual purpose: it keeps the carabiner in the correct position during clipping and protects the rope core from abrasion caused by contact with metal hardware and rock surfaces.
Compatibility and use
- Compatible with the Petzl ABSORBICA energy absorber to form a lanyard with an energy absorber
- Suitable for setting up anchor systems on via ferratas and mountaineering routes
- Fixed length: 60 cm
- The end sheath facilitates quick clipping, even when wearing gloves
The simple construction of the Jane I results in reliability and lightness, essential qualities when every component of the safety system must be functional without adding unnecessary weight to the overall equipment.
