DESCRIPTION
The ASAP'SORBER 40 CM is an energy absorber developed by Petzl for exclusive use in conjunction with ASAP and ASAP LOCK mobile fall arresters. Its primary function is to allow working at a distance from the rope, maintaining active fall protection without compromising the integrity of the safety line during work at height.
Technology and Construction
The absorption system is based on a tear-webbing lanyard which, in the event of a fall, progressively deploys to dissipate impact energy and reduce the force transmitted to the body. The webbing is housed in a case that opens at the ends, which serves a dual function: it protects the material from abrasion during daily use and allows for a quick visual inspection of the device's internal condition before use.
Technical Specifications
- Length: 40 cm (extendable during activation)
- Exclusively compatible with ASAP and ASAP LOCK mobile fall arresters
- Protective anti-abrasion casing with openings at the ends for inspection
- Tear-webbing lanyard certified for reducing arrest force
- Complies with EN 355 standards for energy absorbers
Its compact length of 40 cm makes it suitable for contexts where available fall clearance is limited, such as work on poles, towers, or vertical structures with little margin below the anchor point. The combination with ASAP or ASAP LOCK ensures a complete and certified fall protection system for professional work at height.
