DESCRIPTION
The Edelrid Lead 9.3 is a dynamic single rope with a 9.3 mm diameter and 80 meters in length, designed for demanding sessions on sport routes, big walls, and alpine terrain. Its light weight makes it a practical choice for those who need to manage long pitches without adding bulk to their pack, while maintaining the mechanical strength required for the most challenging situations.
Technology and Construction
The rope incorporates Edelrid's THERMOSHIELD technology, a thermal treatment applied to both the core and the sheath that increases abrasion resistance and reduces moisture absorption. This translates to stable performance even with a wet rope or in cold conditions, where untreated ropes tend to stiffen and lose handling. The sheath is woven with a high percentage of coverage to protect the core from wear on the edges of protection and plates.
Technical Data and Usage
- Diameter: 9.3 mm
- Length: 80 meters
- Type: dynamic single rope UIAA/EN 892 certified
- Treatment: THERMOSHIELD on core and sheath
- Suitable for: sport climbing, big wall, sport alpinism, indoor use
The 80-meter length makes it particularly versatile on modern sport routes with long rappels, where a 60 or 70-meter rope is not sufficient to safely return to the ground with a single rappel.
