DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Vapor Helmet is one of the lightest helmets available for rock climbing and mountaineering activities, now redesigned with a two-layer construction that improves both protection and comfort compared to the previous version.
Construction and materials
The upper shell combines a polycarbonate outer shell with an inner layer of ALUULA composite, an ultralight aerospace-derived material that increases structural rigidity without adding weight. The side zones, on the other hand, are made of molded EPP foam (expanded polypropylene), which ensures high repeated impact absorption capacity and good long-term resilience. This hybrid construction allows for extreme weight reduction while maintaining compliance with certification standards for vertical use.
Fit and use
- DialFit adjustment system to precisely and quickly adapt the helmet to the head circumference, even with gloves on
- Compatible with headlamps and mountaineering goggles thanks to integrated supports
- Optimized ventilation for long days on multi-pitch routes or at high altitudes
- CE EN 12492 and UIAA certified for rock climbing and mountaineering
The Vapor is the ideal choice for those tackling long alpine routes, icefalls, or sport climbing where every gram on the head makes a difference to overall performance. The combination of true lightness and certified protection makes it suitable for both occasional use and the most demanding mountain outings.
