DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Djinn Straight is a screwgate carabiner designed for sport climbing, where ease of clipping and mechanical strength make all the difference. Its optimized geometry includes a wide contact area with the rope and anchor, which reduces friction during progression and better distributes loads, ensuring high structural resistance even in dynamic load situations.
Construction and technical data
The structure is made of high-strength aluminum with an asymmetrical profile, offering a good balance between robustness and low weight. The straight gate — distinct from the Djinn Axe version — is particularly suited for use at the anchor point and during rappelling maneuvers, where a wide and stable opening is needed. The large body size facilitates operations with gloves or in cold conditions, reducing handling errors.
- Major axis strength: 23 kN
- Minor axis strength: 8 kN
- Open gate strength: 7 kN
- Certifications: EN 12275, CE, UIAA
- Grey color for quick identification in the kit
Recommended use
Ideal as an anchor carabiner or for equipping key points on a sport climbing route, the Djinn Straight stands out for a gate opening that allows intuitive clipping even with one hand. The manual screwgate ensures the carabiner remains closed during use, without complicating voluntary opening maneuvers.
