DESCRIPTION
The Beal BE Safe (threaded screw version) is a pear-shaped locking carabiner specifically developed for double rope climbing: its internal geometry accommodates two strands simultaneously without them overlapping, eliminating one of the most common problems when managing falls on half or double ropes. The optimized support cradle ensures smooth movement of the two strands even under load, reducing side friction against the carabiner walls and allowing the belayer to manage the braking with precision.
Construction and technical data
The aluminum alloy body keeps the weight low while offering the strength required for wall use. The threaded screw lock ensures the gate is closed manually and can be visually checked, making it the preferred choice for those seeking a secure solution during belay stances and double rope rappels. The blue color of this version makes it easy to identify quickly when used with multiple connectors.
Intended use
Designed for double rope climbing — half and twin ropes — the BE Safe is compatible with the main tube and plate belay devices. The pear shape naturally orients the device in the correct position, while the internal cradle prevents the two ropes from intertwining during a sudden fall, making the belayer's intervention more reliable and less dependent on an immediate reaction.
