Petzl Footape Pedal - Black is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Footape is an adjustable foot pedal designed specifically for use with the Petzl Ascension handle when ascending fixed ropes. It attaches directly to the handle, turning it into an integrated hand-foot system that allows you to ascend efficiently while reducing strain on your upper limbs.
Construction and adjustment system
The Footape features an abrasion-resistant rigid bracket reinforcement, which keeps the pedal opening open and makes it easier to insert your foot even when wearing gloves or under physical stress. An adjustable elastic strap keeps your foot in position during the ascent and adapts to any type of footwear, from climbing shoes to mountaineering boots. The DoubleBack buckle ensures a secure closure and allows for quick strap length adjustment, eliminating the risk of accidental opening.
Applications and compatibility
The Footape is designed for big wall climbing, technical mountaineering, or caving, where self-belayed rope ascent requires reliable equipment that fits the body well. Its direct compatibility with both right- and left-handed Ascension handles makes it a natural addition for anyone already using that system. The adjustable strap allows for precise adjustment to leg length, optimizing stepping efficiency during vertical progression.
