DESCRIPTION
The Beal Joker Soft 9.1mm is a climbing rope certified simultaneously as a single, half, and twin rope — one of the very few on the market to combine the three EN/UIAA certifications in a single product with a 9.1 mm diameter. This versatility makes it suitable for very different technical contexts: from crag climbing to ridge progression, from mixed and ice routes to classic mountaineering where conditions change rapidly and the rope must adapt without compromise.
Technologies and construction
Beal's Unicore construction fuses the core with the sheath through a thermal bonding process, eliminating relative movement between the two layers and ensuring a uniform response during falls. The DRY Cover treatment waterproofs the outer sheath, reducing water absorption even in conditions of rain, snow, or ice passages — a critical factor for maintaining constant weight and handling during the outing.
Main features
- Length: 70 meters
- Diameter: 9.1 mm
- Triple certification: single / half / twin
- Unicore technology: thermally bonded core and sheath
- DRY Cover treatment on the outer sheath
- Soft construction: smooth running through quickdraws and belay devices
The Soft version stands out for its low-twist core, which gives the rope superior handling during moulinette passes and multi-pitch belays, reducing fatigue during belaying maneuvers. A practical choice for those who do not want to manage different ropes depending on the terrain.
