DESCRIPTION
The KONG HMS Classic Screw Sleeve is an aluminum pear-shaped carabiner, featuring a screw gate and a Keylock system on the nose. This wide-based asymmetrical geometry—the so-called HMS shape—allows the Munter hitch (half hitch) to slide smoothly and controllably, making it a reliable tool for both belaying and rappelling.
Technical features
The Keylock nose eliminates the hooked protrusion found in traditional carabiners, reducing the risk of the connector snagging on ropes, harnesses, or anchors. The screw gate ensures secure and manual locking, suitable even for contexts where a stable connection over time is required, such as fixed anchor points at belay stations. The carabiner is approved for use with all standard anchoring systems: it can be directly connected to the harness or integrated into a belay station, thanks to its versatile orientation on the gate.
