DESCRIPTION
The Ortovox Ascent 30 S is a technical ski touring and mountaineering backpack designed specifically for those with a short back: the "S" in the name stands for SHORT, and indicates a carrying system with a shortened back compared to the standard version, ensuring a precise anatomical fit and an optimal center of gravity even during dynamic movements on snow.
Carrying system and safety
The back panel is built around a flexible aluminum frame that distributes the load following the natural curve of the spine. The ergonomic shoulder straps and padded hip belt work in synergy to keep the backpack stable during uphill skinning and off-piste descents. The main compartment is accessible from the front, allowing quick access to the avalanche transceiver safety equipment, probe, and shovel without removing all the contents.
