DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Sonic ALU W Plus is a folding aluminum pole designed for those who alternate between trekking and trail running sessions, without wanting to carry two different pieces of equipment in their backpack. Its foldable structure makes it compact to transport and quick to deploy when needed, a fundamental feature on technical descents or mixed sections.
Construction and materials
The aluminum structure offers a good balance between lightness and mechanical resistance. The coated internal steel cable ensures the solidity of the tensioning system, keeping the segments locked even under lateral stress. The tungsten carbide tip provides grip on rock, asphalt, and compact terrain, while the removable rubber cap protects the tip when walking on hard surfaces or storing the pole.
Ergonomics and adaptability
- Extended grip: allows for varying the grip on ascents without having to change the pole length, useful on varying inclines.
- Super-slim and adjustable straps: reduce weight on the grip during running and adapt to different hand sizes.
- Modular three-segment construction that compacts to pocket size to be carried at the top of the backpack.
It is a solid choice for those who practice trail running with sustained elevation gain or trekking on alpine trails where the pole is used intermittently, not continuously.
