Atomic Backland 86 UL Ski Touring Skis
Atomic Backland 86 UL Ski Touring Skis - Black / 165 is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland 86 UL is the ultralight ski for fast & light touring: with 86 mm underfoot, it is Atomic's lightest ski in this width category, weighing 970 g per ski in the 165 cm length. It is the result of extensive testing and research and uses a unique wood-to-fiberglass ratio for a lighter, more efficient climb and better descent.
Construction
At its heart is the Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and carob, with an ultralight carbon insert (Carbon Backbone) running the full length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone: reduced weight and balanced power. The fiberglass and carbon layers and the Dura Cap Sidewall, from the base to the topsheet, provide edge grip and durability.
Profile and Skiing
- All-Terrain Profile for efficient climbing and better descending on all terrain
- All Mountain Rocker 15/85/0: early tip rise, suitable for on-piste and off-piste skiing
- Thin and perforated HRZN 3D Backland tip: more surface area and better flotation in deep snow
- Directional shape with minimal tail rocker, for more edge contact, grip, and stability
- 87° side edge angle and 1.0° base angle for easy turns and secure grip; short and long turns
- Tip pocket compatible with Atomic PreFit skins
Fit
Available lengths: 165, 172, 179 cm. Atomic's recommendations for ski touring: fast & light skis 5 to 10 cm shorter than your height, all-round skis about 5 cm shorter, freeride touring skis equal to your height or up to 5 cm longer. The shorter it is, the more agile it is when turning around; the longer it is, the more stable and better it floats. Waist width from 84.5 to 86 mm depending on the length: pair it with 90 mm skistopper bindings or skistopper-free bindings.
Pair with: Atomic Backland Pure Ski Touring Binding, Atomic Backland Tour Ski Touring Binding - Skistopper 90 mm, Atomic Backland Pro UL Men's Ski Touring Boot
