DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland PRO is a ski touring boot designed for those seeking a real balance between lightness on the ascent and control on the descent, without sacrificing either. It is the benchmark model within the Backland family for the ratio between performance and weight.
Construction and materials
The structure uses Prolite technology, which reduces the overall weight while maintaining the structural rigidity necessary for demanding skiing. The lower shell is made of carbon-loaded material, a choice that lowers the weight compared to traditional compounds and at the same time improves the transmission of inputs to the board during carving and steering.
Closure system and movement
The transition between ascent and descent modes is done via the Free/Lock 4.0 system, which can be operated with a single gesture even with gloves. The Frictionless Pivot mechanism eliminates friction in the movement of the hinge in touring mode, providing a smooth and natural walk, particularly appreciated on long elevation gains.
